This season in Milan, Yves Saint Laurent creative director Stefano Pilati debuted a short film before his Spring 2010 men's collection went down the runway. Directed by Samuel Benchetrit and starring Benchetrit's 11 year-old son, Jules, the film depicts the mischievous happenings of a young boy left alone for the afternoon. Aside from videos, YSL's recent marketing strategies and special projects include outstanding and well-received multimedia manifestos, unisex collections and eco-friendly offerings.

Earlier this week it was learned that the 60 Minutes profile on Anna Wintour would air this Sunday at 7pm. Late yesterday, CBS News released a preview of the special, which is reported to include just 12 minutes of original footage. Hopefully this will tide us over until early fall, when The September Issue comes out. The documentary, by the way, has a Facebook page.

Matthew Williamson For H&M Commercial

It seems the Matthew Williamson for H&M madness will never stop, a commercial celebrating the collaboration has just been released. The commercial, above, will air exclusively online and stars models Daria Werbowy, Elsa Hosk and Matthew Williamson himself. Shot in Rio de Janeiro by director John Renck, who has directed videos for Madonna, Beyonce and Kylie Minogue, the video aims to promote Williamson's second delivery for the retailer, poised to hit shelves next week.

There was talk of the Chanel runway being comprised of a set of trap doors, making for a slightly awkward runway show--and our video lays its all out there for you. Staging quandaries aside, Karl Lagerfeld's collection for Chanel this season called up a series of ruffled collars and cuffs which, as the designer explained, can be removed--"at noon they're already dirty"--in order to avoid taking your dress to the dry cleaner after just two wears. Looks like Lagerfeld is more recession minded than we thought. Check out our video below, and a photo gallery of the individual looks right here.

The Fall 2009 Ralph Lauren collection was all about mixing casual, accessible pieces with super luxe, formal ones. The color palette was pale, and predominately earthy, save for the occasional flashes of black or plum. Although Lauren has agreed not to use fur in his collections his shearling and feather pieces compensated in the texture department. Michael Kors presented a sleek Fall 2009 collection yesterday that was just the right balance of sensibility and fun. In our video, courtesy of Vidicom, Kors talks about why women won't stop shopping during times of economic uncertainty and why just the right amount of luxury--an acid green fox fur jacket perhaps?--is not only appropriate, but justified.
