Hope Robertson has finally let the boyfriend blazer with its long panels and unstructured chic into her life. Menswear as womenswear has been hot as long as playing with gender roles has been considered marginally taboo. Because nothing gets panties in a twist like not being sure if you're a boy or girl. And while it once got your mother in a whirl even Julie Andrews did it in Victor/Victoriamaking a littlegender confusion positively mainstream. Thus we can put ourselves in a J.Crew Blazer which is about as palatable to regular America as it gets and hum to ourselves that our boyfriend blazer is back and there is gonna be trouble. Even if its just fending off the advances of your actual boyfriend. Hot tramp I love you so!

Hope Robertson Shoutout: Here Comes The Sun

The immanent return of summer begs several important questions. Are wedges out? How do I feel about cropped pants? And most critically what is my stance towards sunbathing? Few would argue that sunbathing has a bad rap. But looking at this silver hat community member Hope Robertson has discovered is making us rethink traditional assumptions about covering up with her discover of a metallic silver sun hat. Why? Well sure if you wear the thing it will protect your face from sun damage but what if you take it off, brim up, and leave it on your stomach and suddenly it has an entirely new use as a chic metallic sun reflector. Its perfect for the bratty teenage heiress that wants Mummy to think she has covered up before heading deck side on the yacht. But as soon as she is alone she can simply turn over her hat and get that perfect taupe tan on her unlined face. Let's just see how long it stays that way.

Hope Robertson Shoutout: Can You Compare?

Save or splurge style posts are a style blogging staple and yet we can't freaking stand them! We love when the Beauty Brain helps us save a buck when pretty packaging disguises inconclusive active ingredients but by and large we think the whole genre is a scam. Different price points exist for a reason (with the possible exception of contemporary lines which are largely expensive due to constraints in sourcing and volume but we won't get technical here) so we often feel like comparing aesthetically similar bags is like comparing apples and oranges.Hope Robertson is comparing a a Jil Stuart bag with a Target Mossimo Bag that look relatively similar. To her credit though she does not take the easy route of doing a high low comparison but genuinely points out the bags various merits. Canvas, leather, casual, formal and other details help us go beyond the price points. And bless her heart she decides to go with both. What would you have done hmmmm?
