Tuttle Your Fancy

LD Tuttle is a dream brand for a certain kind of independent girl that likes her accessories trendy but not immediately recognizable. The fall collection is packed with the requisite grays and off color neutrals, bursting with ankle booties and straps galore, and it has just enough suede to make us swoon. In other words, it has everything a Williamsburg wants without saying screaming I bought this season's "it" shoes. Community member Style Bite is positively drooling over the collection. Thus it is no surprise that Coutorture favorite and Williamsburg (and now Soho) staple Oak has a great stockist for the fall collection. We took the liberty of doing a little round up of the shoes we like best.

LD Tuttle Shoes And Accessories

We've been hearing whispers about LD Tuttle for a few months now, by way of the line being carried by OAK and Steven Alan. LD Tuttle, launched in 2005 by husband and wife team, Richard Lidinsky and Tiffany Tuttle, is really picking up steam this summer with a collection that features cut-out flats and heels. This particular aesthetic has been successful for many designers this season (i.e. Opening Ceremoney and Troupe to name a few at the same relative price point) in part, because it offers something as breathable as ordinary sandals but not quite as flimsy. Tiffany Tuttle, in addition to hitting the mark this summer with her ventilated shoes, is a designer that seems to have the resume for staying power. Educated at Princeton, she pursued fashion by way of a post graduated degree from FIT. After her studies commenced, she worked for Givenchy in Paris and then as an associate designer for Rebecca Taylor. Once Tuttle realized her dream was to design footwear and accessories, she packed up and moved to Milan to study the craft. Tiffany Tuttle isn't your average Lower East Side hipster who happened to get lucky in outsourcing to the right places and knowing the right people. At this lucky time in the season, most of LD Tuttle's Summer offerings are on sale which makes this the perfect time (if you haven't done so already) for a test drive.
