Vera Wang Mixes Gossamer Hemmed-Dresses with Tailored Outerwear for Pre-Fall

Vera Wang introduced a new, more tailored look for her per-fall collection including structured outerwear adorned with beaded panels at the shoulders, fur patchwork at the hips, and black tinsel trimming. There were signature clingy knits for daytime and draped evening looks as well as two standout paillette-covered tee-shirt dresses with sheer organza panels.

Fashion Industry Designs Houses for Womens' Charity

You can tell a lot about a person by looking at their home—Vera Wang's is covered in rhinestones and tulle, Isaac Mizrahi's is perfectly printed in vibrant pink, Diane von Furstenberg's is dripping in leopard and lips, and Sean Combs' comes equipped with a helipad.
Although not real interiors, these papier-mâché houses were created by fashion celebrities coming together to raise money for the Women In Need charity. Each hand-decorated piece will be displayed in the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and auctioned on charitybuzz.com on November 9th. An edgy, rock-and-roll concept will always be better suited for Vera Wang's lower priced diffusion line, Lavender Label, and this Fall 2009 was no exception. The theme was "Medieval Mod" and allowed for layered metallics, hard and soft elements, and close-to-the-body silhouettes. Vera Wang's Fall 2009 ready to wear collection will show at the designer's SoHo Flagship during New York Fashion Week.
