Sister site, Popsugar UK, reported on Peaches Geldof's announcement that she'll be designing a second collection for PPQ.

Right now we are insanely jealous of Temptalia because she is trying out a TRIA Laser which is an at-home permanent hair removal device created to mimic the laser treatments done in dermatologist offices. This may be the ONLY major beauty procedure that we have an intense interest in and our desire to test out one of these puppies before the public eye is pretty strong. But we suppose we may have to settle for watching Temptalia instead. We are seriously considering getting permanent laser hair removal at a dermatologist so we will be watching intently. And hoping the TRIA people read this post. No really we are that obsessed. Yes its sort of pathetic.

Cuffington asks why does it always have to be snakes? Actually come to think of it there really is a lot of snake jewelry out there.

In the spirit of our own Bridal Fashion Week coverage we feel we must point to some solid bridal makeup work at Makeup and Beauty Blog.

Today as been a bit of an up and down ride for as as we got bad news from our accoutant, great news from some publicists, and then more bad news about the economy in general but we are able to keep a brave face thanks to our amazing community.

The Coveted writes about Junko Shimada's not quite ballet flats that are a new spin on a classic point shoe. We aren't quite sure we would be able to wear them but they sure are fascinating!

Trust Your Style gives an interesting spin on the basics with a post she titles "Love+Price+Longevitiy= Dress of Trends" That is the sort of equation we are interesting in solving!

Temptalia has a set of tutorials on achieving beautiful and wearable pink makeup looks. They are so good we think even we could manage the pink without making us look like we have a bad case of pink eye.

Platinum Blonde does Little Red Riding Hood. My what big accessories you have my dear!

Vie Couture turns us on to a new handbag designer Claudia Canova. The color blocking is extremely attractive.

Coutorture's community has plenty of material to work with this week thanks to the nearly instant access we all enjoy to images and reviews of Milan Fashion Week so its little surprise that the catwalk was on everyone's mind.

Chic and Untroubled has a few trenchant remarks about billowing dresses at Gucci, Catwalk Queen is sorry they haven't given more time to Alessandro Dell'Acqua in the past, The Fashion Pad has a bazillion (OK more like 6-7) Milan show reviews, J'Adore Couture thinks Milan goes from bad to worse, Senora Carter reviews the bags at Burberry, Season Five Style wonders why everyone is hating on Gucci, and finally for something positive Fashionation writes a love letter to Prada.

And in case you just can't think about Milan anymore Business of Fashion has a report on the new H&M in Japan. Very informative and quite detailed so we highly suggest checking it out. After a two week hiatus thanks to New York and London Fashion Week Coutorture's community must reads are back with a fresh dose of blogger joy.

We entirely support Bag Bliss's love of Pringle's Kasia tote bag. We have Pringle on the mind what with their new collaboration with Sigerson Morrison and all. Shoewawa also has the scoop on that collaboration.

Style Eyes notes that nudes and oranges are combining quite a bit on the catwalk this Spring 2009 season. She also hopes that by saying "nude" she doesn't get any upsetting Google traffic. We think you are safe hon!

Temptalia has Chanel's Holiday 2008 collection with lots of images and product descriptions for those obsessed with all things double C.

SheFinds solves the dreaded pairing black and brown collection. We say hey didn't we already do that at Lord and Taylor this week? Ohh wait, that was for guys!

Little Molly Cakes asks how do we feel about sequined shorts. She feels good. We feel bad.

So Cherry Clichéd

Beauty copy can be a tangle of clichés as writers struggle to find fresh descriptions for minute changes. We almost wish the copy editors would give in and admit it! So when the ne plus ultra of beauty clichés, the cherry, came out in force this Fall the overbearing metaphor seemed almost charming. Its as if everyone agreed to say, eh, why force it? Everyone loves a deep cherry red lip so let's not struggle to call it anything but. Its the beauty copy equivalent of calling a spade a spade. And that refreshing honesty about the limits of descriptors somehow makes us that much covetous. Why strive to over market when we all know that we love it we suppose.

And clearly our community feels the same way as MAC's Cult of Cherries and Laura Mercier's Cherries Noir are getting rave reviews. Beauty 411 loves Cherries Noir for what we might call a sister cliché 40s Hollywood glamor. 15 Minute Beauty Fanatic goes right for the kisser with MAC's Cult of Cherry with a cherry lips entry. Temptalia too goes for cherryliscious lips. Makeup and Beauty Blog continues the trend Mercier's Cherries Noir cherry lips. And because it can't just be about the biggies, So Loverly found a Silken Naturals Cherry Crush lipgloss.

A SeasteadAs summer approaches the fashionable mind often strays style cliché of nautical dressing. And even though one might be tempted to ignore it as a tedious summer staple, it is possible to find in it fresh and exciting possibilities. Members of our community like Temptalia and ShinyGloss are eagerly awaiting MAC Cosmetics Naughty Nauticals collection. But we found ourselves distracted by a far stranger possible trend. Blame it on our obsession with Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash and its floating trash heap city, but we are obsessed with the idea of Seasteading. Economics blog Marginal Revolution got us all excited about the idea of escaping nation states by living on the high seas.

We think this will appeal tax shelter millionaires which means that "cruise" season could take on a whole new meaning for fashion. We imagine girls in Chloe Nautical sweater dresses and golden sandals forever adrift sartorially. We bet Karl Lagerfeld would be the first designer to show a cruise collection on a seastead. He may be showing Chanel's Cruise 2008 collection in Miami in a few weeks but we think it would be so much cooler on a floating city of billionaires. OK so technically a seastead is more like an oil rig made out as a house but we still think its devastatingly romantic and just a bit neurotic in the most fashionable way.

Temptalia Shoutout: Southern Fried

Getting a little color is good for you! Or at least that is the consensus among grandmotherly types prone to body dismorphia oriented aphorisms like "you could stand to put some meat on your bones." Except with skin cancer rates souring and obesity levels reaching dizzy levels perhaps old timey sayings are a little dangerous hmmmm? And while people will do some pretty stupid things if they others will find them more attractive, Temptalia is fighting the good fight with a three part series on self tanning. All of the glory and very little of the guts...err umm negative side effects! As a former blond bouncy sorority girl we happen to feel very well qualified to weigh in as well with our personal favorite tanner Clarins Self Tanning Milk with SPF 6. Slather it on like moisturizer and then go out in the sun without fear. Ahhh those were the glory days.
