Proenza Schouler's buttoned up fall 2010 collection featured updated collegiate-style toggle jackets, sleeveless white shirts, plaid pleated mini skirts, and high-waisted, ultra skinny denim (a first for Proenza Schouler). The jeans were designed in collaboration with J Brand, combining the denim brand's much-loved stretch fit with the designers' modern silhouette.
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez explained they were exploring the idea of uniforms with this fall collection and couldn't ignore denim's ubiquity in most people's wardrobe. Of course, these trousers aren't your average jean. Each pair is printed with a graphic black and white graffiti print, which is hand-pained over to create texture.
"Everyone we know wears J Brand. It was an easy choice," said McCollough and Hernandez. The denim collection will be available in stores mid-July.
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernadez are the latest designers to join the live streaming fashion week party. The pair announced this morning they will broadcast their fall 2010 Proenza Schouler runway show Wenesday at 8PM EST in real-time at ProenzaSchouler.com.
But that's not all. Directly following the collection debut online audiences will be able to pre-order a selection of straight-off-the-runway fall 2010 handbags. The sale only lasts 24 hours, so if you like what you see, act quickly.
Instant gratification doesn't get faster than this.

There is nothing hippie or Seventies about spring's colorful tie-dye prints. Inspired by the worlds of surf and skate, the acid-hued, tie-dyed fabrics seen on the runway at Proenza Schouler were cut into sexy racerback tank dresses and micro minis. Who What Wear Daily recently took matters into their own hands by recreating a more affordable version of Proenza's technicolor silk knit sweater with this do-it-yourself projectfrom Erica Domesek of P.S. I Made This.
Much loved by fashion designers (Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, Narciso Rodriguez, and Diane von Furstenberg) and editors (Vogue), but little known to consumers, milliner Albertus Swanepoel has finally landed a lucrative corporate collaboration which should send his exquisitely-designed headpieces straight into the mainstream spotlight.
Known for his exceptional attention to detail, handwork, and use of exotic materials (such as the rooster feather hunting cap in Carolina Herrera's fall 2008 collection above), the South African-born, New York-based Swanepoel will launch a collection with U.S. hat manufacturer Stetson this fall. The line will be sold seasonally at Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, and Saks Fifth Avenue and retail for $180-$300. Thank you, Stetson.

"We're still feeling short (lengths)," Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough told Mark Holgate of their Proenza Schouler pre-fall collection, which had tweed and leather skirts hitting miles above the knee. Influenced by "The Catcher in the Rye," and a Japanese fabric dying technique called shibori, the collection is appropriately techno-tie-dye-meets-collegitate-prep with a very appealing economical twist—almost 25 pieces will be available below typical Proenza retail prices, some even under $500.

After a hard—and in our case, most likely life threatening—run down the mountain, it is always a joy to wrap up in winter's coziest separates and hit the lodge for a well-deserved après ski hot toddy. Stirrup leggings and serious snow boots are necessary to fight off the chill, while Proenza Schouler's chunky pullover and Matthew Williamson's wrap scarf just make us really happy.

It's time to shine in fall's glamorous sequined separates. Metallic tuxedo jackets, tunics and tee shirts look effortlessly chic when thrown over a favorite pair of jeans or leggings. Brilliant accessories like the Topshop scarf and Fendi chain strap handbag are great alternatives to head-to-toe sparkle.
