Although our focus may have shifted to the Men's Spring 2010 shows, the Resort 2010 collections are still coming in. Marni's resort offering was revealed yesterday and shows off Consuelo Castiglioni’s signature prints and let-loose silhouettes. That said, Castiglioni never fails to gives us a much needed dose of intellectual fashion optimism. This collection is full of items that Marni fans will love--boxy printed blouses, wide leg trousers, statement necklaces and irreverent footwear. Check out our favorites in the gallery below.

Marni Opens A New York Flagship Uptown, But Will You Be Able To Find It?

Today WWD reported that a second Marni flagship has opened in New York between 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue on 67th Street. Somehow both the reporter and Consuelo Castiglioni have convinced themselves that this is off the beaten path even though, in truth, the area is one of the most dense retail zones in all of Manhattan. Probably the country. Probably the world. That aside, it's exciting that Marni has opened a second flagship considering the other one is all the way downtown. Ah, but there's a catch. The two stores will be stocked and curated according to their geographical profile so the Carrie Bradshaw types (who dress downtown but live uptown) will still have to cab-it down to Mercer Street to go shopping.

The Spring 2009 Statement Necklace: Bauble Or Geometric

The statement necklace is here to stay and this Spring 2009 there were two distinct (but equally covetable) camps. Bauble necklaces cropped up at Burberry and Marni, they were colorful and mis-matched for the artistic Type-B chicsters. Then, there were those on the straight and narrow. Geometric necklaces cropped up at United Bamboo and VPL and they were Type-A all the way. The rule with personality types, remember, is that few people are just one type or the other. Bauble or geometric, it could just depend on the day.

Fashion In 50 Seconds 12/02/08 Gemma Ward's Film, Cyber Numbers Roll In, Marni Changing Format, Designers Give Back

Gemma Ward's new film, The Black Balloon, will open stateside this Friday, following its March release in Australia which came with a slew of positive reviews...

Cyber Monday has come and gone but consumer spending online should continue, despite all odds, to grow. WWD reports on the build up of Cyber Monday and the Thanksgiving numbers that brought us there.

Marni has announced its Fall 09 menswear show will take place by way of a presentation rather than the usual runway spectacular. The company has articulated their ongoing focus on menswear, despite deciding on this rather subdued format for next season.

A collaborative project called A Little Piece of Mind has the likes of Giles Deacon, PPQ, and Luella Bartley designing squares of quilts that will be auctioned off, in New York and London, for charity. Debuting this March, proceeds from the auction will go to Shelter in the UK and the Bowery Mission in New York.
