What we can't turn our backs on is the one-stop approach to getting dressed in the morning and the fact that we have never felt anything less than fabulous in a one-piece get-up. Jumpsuits cropped up often in the Spring 09 shows, and, in the wake of an era dominated by onesy-s of all manifestations, some parameters are in order. On the one hand, you can take your jumpsuit to an androgynous place with the flight suit looks. It's relatively subdued and rather nice when paired with heels. On the other side of the spectrum come unabashed, seventies-inspired jumpsuits. Whether bejeweled, or a-symmetrical, these suits are always wide legged and silk. We're all about a trend that has a silhouette for every type of person--we just hope they don't proliferate the market the way the shorts-version did a few seasons back. Anyway, the full jumpsuit has always been the more sophisticated option. Here's to one-stop shopping of a different kind.

We feel like the onesie trend is getting a little bit conservative. Everyone is wearing it in neutral shades. Fashion Verbatim is loving a greige Budda jumpsuit. We have already given a host of suggestions for the neutral jumpsuit in our homage to the past's vision of the future fashion. We are even particularly partial to several options of black jumpsuits like this Tibi Off The Shoulder Jumpsuit and this Sea Pleated Strapless Jumpsuit. But we really think its time to get more creative with the onesie wearing. After all, if one is going to go with something that is vaguely questionable for daily wear why not go all the way? Thus we present several options for the adventurous dresser. We are sure Fashion Verbatim won't mind if we improve on his idea just a little bit.
