Jewelry Designer Hannah Martin Goes E-Commerce
Hannah Martin’s assailing luxury jewelry for men has positioned her as one today’s leading tastemakers in the world of design. She has worked as a consultant for both Cartier and Givenchy and her creations have been picked up by the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Chris Bailey, and Georgina Goodman. Martin’s collections rely heavily on narratives that involve hyper-males (imaginary and red-blooded) who are as villainous as they are elegant. Precisely because of the irresistible androgynous forces in her work, Martin’s pieces are constantly mentioned as being just as likable to women as they are to men. It was when Martin was working for Cartier by day, and hanging out with her rock and roll friends in Paris by night, that her line was conceived. In her collections, which she puts forth but once a year, she blends these two worlds beautifully. Her newest collection, inspired by a character called Vincent, calls up Soviet Russia and gangster iconography with sculptural pendants, thick emblem rings, and hand-cut onyx cuff links. Johanne Mills Will Wow You With Her Resume And Awesome Earrings
Textile aficionado Johanne Mills got her start in the industry when Donna Karan bought her entire graduate range and hired her to work as a creative director and project manager for the company. Over the next five years with Donna Karan, Mills also consulted on textiles and accessories for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Luella, Hugo Boss, and Matthew Williamson. Later in her career, in 2003, Mills went on to work with Giles Deacon on a project that involved embroidering crystals and stones into garments. It was at this point that she started to pursue jewelry design and the rest, as they say, is history. Mills current collection addresses her ongoing interest in voluminous and natural forms, while blending unusual materials like wood, Swarovski crystal, cork, leather, and hand-crafted knotted fabrics.
