The exhibition opens May 14th and stays open through September 6th. It calls itself "the first exhibition devoted exclusively to Richard Avedon’s fashion work" and is slated to include some 175 photographs from Avedon's career. Avedon is most widely known for his work in the 50's and 60's at <span style="font-style: italic;">Harper's Bazaar</span> and in the 70's and 80's at <span style="font-style: italic;">Vogue</span> (he went to <span style="font-style: italic;">Vogue</span> when Diana Vreeland did). Avedon was also the inspiration behind Stanley Donen's film <span style="font-style: italic;">Funny Face</span> starring Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn.
