Last night Burberry staked their claim on the New York City skyline by lighting up 50-foot-long Burberry signs atop their new Madison Avenue headquarters. Thanks in part to the establishment of The Burberry Foundation and a $50,000 donation to local youth projects, Mayor Bloomberg declared yesterday "Burberry Day" in New York. There to celebrate were Burberry's Christopher Bailey, Lily Donaldson, Terence Koh, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and more. Bulgari "Between Eternity And History" Opening Exhibition
Last night celebrities and fashion folk gathered in Rome to celebrate the opening of Bulgari's retrospective, titled, "Between Eternity and History: 1884-2009". As part of their 125th anniversary celebration over five hundred works of jewelry, watchmaking and objets d’art were on display. Check out images from last night's even in the gallery below.
Bulgari Celebrates Its 125th Anniversary With Retrospective
In celebration of their 125th anniversary, Bulgari's first ever retrospective will open next week at at the prestigious Il Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The exhibition, titled "Between History and Eternity: 1884-2009" will cover the company's historical achievements and design evolution. Over five hundred works of jewelry, watchmaking and objets d’art will be displayed including photographs of celebrities who have worn Bulgari over the years. Matthew Williamson For H&M Debuts Worldwide
The Matthew Williamson for H&M collection will debut in New York this morning while stores in London, Beijing and Tokyo celebrated the debut yesterday afternoon. The collection was inspired by Williamson's most iconic looks, such as his lean, bright suiting and bohemian printed maxi dresses and serves as the first of two deliveries slated to hit H&M. The second Matthew Williamson for H&M delivery, which debuts on May 14th, is positioned as "the perfect wardrobe for summer". Buy Gwyneth Paltrow's Gently Used Proenza Platforms For A Goop Cause
Gwyneth Paltrow sent out a Goop newsletter today announcing that she'd done some spring cleaning and that her "most treasured" pieces would be sold off on eBay for charity. Said Goop store is posting these gently used designer pieces with extremely low starting bids. We're pretty sure that by day six, when the auction ends, the pieces will reach a more deserved price point but still. In the name of fashion philanthropy we had to at least mention it.
