Believe It: Yves Saint Laurent X Puma

Yves Saint Laurent doesn't have much of a high street collaboration history to speak of but, between the manifesto and Edition Unisex collection, it should come as no surprise that the brand would move in that direction. Following in the footsteps of Alexander McQueen and Sergio Rossi, Stefano Pilati designed a YSL men's shoe for Puma poised to hit shelves any day now. The sneaker, which comes in all-black and brown, blends "Stefano Pilati’s design prowess and the activewear firm’s technical expertise". Click on the title link above to learn more.

Chloe Sevigny's women's and men's range for Opening Ceremony has dropped and the aesthetic is "gay lumberjack" with a "slight homage" to Sevigny's favorite designers.

The rumor of Gareth Pugh taking over at Dior Homme was reportedly confirmed backstage at the Loiuse Goldin show yesterday.

Hilldun Corporation and Rosenthal & Rosenthal Inc.--two leading factoring firms--have suspended Barneys accounts for at least a week.

The art and furniture collection of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge went up for auction yesterday, and is slated to fetch $392 million over the next three days.

Luckily, we got their just before the space got packed and had a chance to pour over the slinky fabrics and masculine, slouchy cuts in the collection. Stefano Pilati's Unisex Line To Debut During New York Fashion Week

Stefano Pilati's unisex line for Yves Saint Laurent, called Edition Unisex, is poised to debut during New York Fashion Week--alllllll the way downtown. The pop-up will run for the entirety of the week, from tomorrow's first fashion murmurs through next week's straggling finales. The range, inspired by Pilati's Spring 2009 Men's collection, will include washed silk blazers, silk organza trench coats, and pants in crepe de chine which "maintain the men's silhouettes while offering an implicit femininity". Looks like downtown is good for more than just an after-party these days.

Fashionalities has look book images from Lauren Conrad's Holiday collection which will satisfy a very many young fashionista. These frocks look far more sophisticated than what we saw on the Spring 09 runway. Or perhaps that's just curation.

Just after the Spring 09 shows commenced, we brought you our top four wearable Spring 09 hairstyles, and today, we're following up with our favorite makeup looks--though they might not be the most daring, these four shows had our favorite street-ready makeup. Cynthia Rowley, who also made our list for hair, had Bobbi Brown create a makeup look with a matte, peach lip and wet grey eyelid. In the Marni show, makeup was kept to a nude lip and dark, thick brow--something we've always had a weakness for. At Nicole Farhi in London, our obsession with blush was indulged and the girls looked as fresh as can be on the runway. Finally, in Paris, the YSL makeup look boasted "Fellini" eyes that would be a perfect compliment for any nighttime affair.

Sack Shorts For Spring 2009

The first thing that came to mind when we really gave these sack shorts a good look was that it gives women the same silhouette that the thinnest of runway models has when they are literally bow legged from thinness. Is this why these shorts are the next hot thing on the runway? We certainly hope not. So far, and that said, we are much bigger fans of this silhouette when applied to trousers but maybe the whole thing will grow on us. Or maybe it will just get too hot not to wear them. At left, a pair from the Yves Saint Laurent Spring 09 show (Style.com's Sarah Mower said of the shorts, "...the concept of a garment that happens to be joined between the knees--worn with button-up shirts or tailored jackets--had gained a degree of visual inevitability that might be a staging post on the way to normality.") and, if you should want them cheaper and faster but still with a name you can drop to the street style photographer, check out Rei Kawakubo's pair for mass retailer, H&M.
