Trippy, geometric prints dominated the spring runways-appearing in black and white oversized checks at Junya Watanabe, pastel digitally-printed cubes at Peter Pilotto, thick stripes at Marni, and psychedelic patterns at Givenchy.

Versace Opened Two Boutiques In Dubai This Month

While American retail numbers are still disappointing, designers and brands are expanding elsewhere. This month, Versace opened a jewelry boutique and a flagship boutique inside The Dubai Mall. The recent openings bring Versace's total number of Middle East stores to nine--the same as the United States. See images of the two new boutiques in the gallery below. For Resort, Donatella Versace designed a collection that was both breezy and bold. Bright colored silks, block graphics and glass stone details helped achieve this balance--everything was statement making and yet still appropriate for the beach. Our favorite pieces were the baroque and floral printed cotton separates that reminded us of something newcomer Mary Katranzou might send down the runway.

Burberry Prorsum will close London Fashion Week this Spring 2010, rather than show in Milan, in honor of LFW's 25th anniversary.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana face charges of more than a billion dollars in unpaid taxes and fines, due to allegations surrounding the sale of Dolce & Gabbana and D&G in 2004.

Lily Cole debuted her first major movie role at Cannes this weekend and was complimented for her performance.

Former Aquascutum ceo Kim Winser is rumored to be moving on to Versace, although, so far, Versace denies this to be true.

Donatella Versace showed her Spring 2009 Versace collection in Beijing, China yesterday--first seen this season at Milan Fashion Week, the collection was re-shown with Chinese models and an identical stage. Versace arranged the show, in part, as a vehicle for humanitarian work. To see images from the fashion show, click here.

It has been rumored that Mike & Chris is going out of business. A canceled sample sale started the snowball of gossip via Racked's infamous tipline.

Wal-Mart and Urban Outfitters both made it out of the third quarter with overall revenue growth. Their success can be attributed to a combination of low price points and well-timed advertising campaigns.
