Thakoon Panichgul has had quite a good year—first dressing MIchelle Obama, then starring in the hit Vogue documentary "The September Issue", and yesterday presenting a well-received spring 2010 collection.
Thakoon-wearing girls-about-town including Bee Shaffer, Amanda Brooks, and Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann watched from benches in west Chelsea's Eyebeam Gallery as Panichgul presented a line-up of feminine printed dresses, for which the designer has become known, as well as a few new ideas—armored micro dresses and techno twill "ninja" pants.
A short black jacket covered in small chains stood out from the crowd, as did the series georgette dresses with print overlays, and the incredible Giuseppe Zanotti for Thakoon gladiator heels.
We spotted Net-a-Porter.com's Natalie Massenet in Thakoon's front row yesterday and look forward to the twisted georgette dresses—especially in solid skin and black—hitting her cyber store next spring. Thank God for same-day Manhattan delivery.

Quote Of The Day: Thakoon Panichgul Fights For Intellectual Property Rights
It’s about understanding you can’t go into the business and teach young kids out of college and design school to go shopping and rip off clothes for inspiration. It’s actually about reversing that idea and talking about how we uphold the integrity of what we do here in America. I think it will deter people from actually trying to copy and will then have a ripple effect on design teams and the philosophy behind a company.
