A classic cape paired with slim trousers and ankle boots, builds an effortlessly chic silhouette. Derek Lam sent his cashmere cape with detachable collar down the runway with a slim skirt and lady-like blouse. Balmain's military style cape has structured shoulders and silver buttons, and Marc Jacob makes his unique with contrasting white trim and matching epaulets.

Stella McCartney Casts Baby Animals and Little Londoners for GapKids Campaign

Stella McCartney used Facebook and a casting in London's Notting Hill to find the adorable faces featured in her current GapKids campaign. Photographed by Ryan McGinley earlier this summer, the ads feature 20 children playing with baby chicks, iguanas, rabbits, a miniature donkey, and a fox.

Moms will find some of the 70-piece collection look familiar, as McCartney designed a few mini-me versions of her fall 2009 rtw line-most notably a gray sweater dress with intarsia leopard design and matching skinny gray jeans with ankle zippers.

McCartney also created footwear for the lucky little ones-shiny rain boots and high top sneakers-none of which were made with leather, keeping in line with the designer's vegetarian principals.

Sizes run from newborn to age 12, and the collection will be in GapKids stores beginning November 2. [WWD]

What was once reserved for pretty women who walked the streets has now made its way to the catwalks and, potentially, on to your feet. I'm talking about the over-the-knee or thigh-high boot. Worn with a short dress or even shorts, a hint of leg is all you need to show some sex appeal. We're loving the perforation of the Stella McCartney pair, but the Miu Mius and Choos are just as cute.

For Resort 2010, Stella McCartney addressed the need for clothing to compliment the current season--not the future one. Lightweight suiting, frocks in heavier fabrics and accessories that could, essentially, "go both ways" were thought to be a perfect fit for midseason. Leave it to eco-friendly designer Stella McCartney to show us just how fashionable it is to be practical.

Net-a-Porter Rolls Out Another Set Of Looks From Stella McCartney

Yesterday, Net-a-Porter released the first of four mini capsule collections from Stella McCartney and today, another one hit their virtual shelves. "Poem" includes four exclusive looks not unlike the four from yesterday's "Magnolia Tree" collection. Both are predominately nude and both are offset with a few pieces rendered with a childlike cloud print. Worth noting, however, is that each mini capsule collection comes with its own introductory video while, in the main menu, you will find a video interview with McCartney in which she talks about the project as a whole.
