Eponymous Jil Sander Fringe Dresses Sold-Out On Net-a-Porter
Fringe was one of those trends that hit the streets before the Spring 09 shows even commenced. Most eponymous were the dramatic Jil Sander dresses that made their way into every editorial and on every blog in the months that followed the shows. Although we might have already grown tired of fringe, thanks in part to the DIY nature of the look, it's not over until those Jil Sander dresses make their way into stores. Net-a-Porter put up two of them today, both of which retailed well above $1,500, and they promptly sold out. Looks like some women aren't willing to take a glue gun to their LBD, no matter how long they have to wait for the real thing.

Vivienne Westwood "Sex In The City" Wedding Dress Promptly Sold Out
Talk of the Sex In The City movie has finally quieted, but we happened upon the one thing that might revive it. It seems THE Vivienne Westwood Gold Label wedding gown, which Carrie Bradshaw wears when she is once again dumped by Mr. Big, went live on Net-a-Porter this weekend and promptly sold out. The nearly ten thousand dollar gown marks another step on Net-a-Porter's part, toward building out their recently launched Wedding Boutique. The new section positions all formal white and off-white frocks as potentially wedding-worthy with subsections curated for bridesmaids, guests, and family members.

Eleven Thousand Dollar Balmain Jacket Sold Out On Net-a-Porter
If you were hoping to get your hands on that crystal embellished Balmain jacket from Spring 09, you'll have to wait until Net-a-Porter gets their re-order or look elsewhere. The $11,410 jacket sold out in, as far as we can tell, less than 24 hours. It's hard to say how many pieces Net-a-Porter had in stock but even if there were only three or four, we still find it somewhat jaw-dropping. Wealthy women have always spent unbelievable sums of money on clothing, but never has the process been so public. After all, there's a big difference between picking up a pair of thousand-dollar Louboutins and spending eleven times that much on one very bedazzled piece of outerwear. Or isn't there?
