There is no sale section on Opening Ceremony's e-commerce site, which launched earlier this year, but that doesn't mean there are no sale items. The New York based retailer recently launched into an official spring sale with 30-60% off select items from Acne, Band of Outsiders, BOY, Bless, G.V.G.V., Haversack, Meadham Kirchoff, Patrik Ervell, Rodarte and, most notably, their in-house line. The Opening Ceremony spring range looked to the late eighties for inspiration, calling up crop tops, rolled-up chinos, and oversized blazers that are nothing but right now.
Chloe Sevigny's Opening Ceremony buckle boots are available for pre-order from now until this Wednesday. The boots, which come in black leather and suede, retail for $625. Similar in style to Acne's once-eponymous Niara sandal and the Spring 09 must-have buckle sandal from Surface to Air, we're guessing the shoe will fare well next season. Order them now and you'll be able to wear them in late August/early September. Back to school outfit anyone? Pair these boots a la Sevigny by wearing them with her fair isle knits and loose androgynous blouses. The Fall 2009 Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony range will begin delivering in August.
Bernhard Willhelm's aesthetic might be a little intense at first glance, but his pieces are often quite accessible on their own. His collaboration with Camper Together for instance, shows off just the right blend of personality and functionality. We first read about the collaboration last week, when Lucky's Shop Girl pointed out one of the more conservative styles as being both comfortable and durable--not to mention available at Opening Ceremony. The range, as was seen in Willhelm's Spring 2009 show, is handmade from recycled materials. Click on the link above to learn more.
Reorganized and fully-stocked, Opening Ceremony's e-commerce site is starting to get serious. Which designers have they chosen to represent on the site? Rodarte, Meadham Kirchhoff, Peter Pilotto, Hussein Chalayan, Jeremy Scott, and Japanese brand G.V.G.V. among others. These often editorialized international brands are all quite difficult to find online, particularly for American consumers. Much like Colette, Opening Ceremony's site is quirky and chaotic but if we've learned anything from the French retailer, it's that looks can deceiving. Thanks in part to their re-vamped site, Colette is now a heavy hitter in the world of fashion and retail--not just a hip boutique in Paris. With these coveted brands on Opening Ceremony's site, not to mention their plans to expand into Japan, we'd say Colette isn't alone in that effort.

One month after its alleged launch date, the Erin Wasson for RVCA Spring 2009 collection is finally hitting the retail floor. We hear that the collection just landed on shelves at Opening Ceremony in New York, although the pieces are not on their just-launched e-commerce site yet. As for other e-commerce retailers, a source at La Garconne tell us that they've just received the goods and will be shooting them and putting them online within the next week or so.
