Monochrome in menswear is not a new concept but this season there were some looks that were notably aggressive in their sameness. The number of all-black ensembles that came down the Fall 2009 menswear catwalks frankly made our heads spin but there were also a significant number of more experimental instances--and those quickly became our favorites. Green and red were popular colors as were browns made multi-textural with the inclusion of buttery soft leathers. Check out our favorites below.
Monochromatic outfits are popular for spring and there is no better example than the head-to-toe nude looks that came down this season's runways. Matching shades can be difficult, so don't worry too much that they be exact. Just keep your eye out for great nude separates and by the time the weather turns, you'll have your look ready to go. We love a monochromatic look and this one, as was part of the Obedient Sons & Daughters Spring 2009 collection, tops our list. We love the boyishness of this buttoned up shirt, especially because it's paired with sexy platform sandals. Above, some alternative options to get this look now at a slightly lower price point--although, we wouldn't blame you if you waited for the real thing.
