Today's Royal College of Art MA graduate show marked the end of Graduate Fashion Week in London. Thirty-six graduates participated in the show, which included menswear, womenswear, accessories and knitwear creations. The Royal College of Art postgraduate design program is one of the most prestigious in the world. Alumni from the program include Christopher Bailey, Ossie Clark, Julien Macdonald and Georgina Goodman. Check out this year's designs in the gallery below.

London College Of Fashion Grads Also Turned A Few Heads

The Central Saint Martins BA collections certainly got their share of American press last week but, over in England, Saint Martins is just one aspect of Graduate Fashion Week. Another fashion college of note is London College of Fashion, whose BA graduates caught the eye of Topshop in addition to our sister site, Fabsugar UK. Short Fashion Films Poised For The Birds Eye View Film Festival

Birds Eye View Film Fesitval, a London-based festival that promotes female filmmakers, will be showing a series of short fashion films on a special night during the festival. Fashion Loves Film will feature creative shorts on Yves Saint Laurent (still from film to left), Basso & Brooke and Givenchy directed by some of fashion's heavy hitters, so if you're in London and The September Issue, Stylista, and Running With Heels has you feeling a bit like the fashion industry has officially sold out, this might be worth a stop. Each film is less than fifteen minutes long and promises abstract content. Case in point, a description for the Givenchy film reads "the subject is passive and reality is suspended". So there you go. In London, modern and minimal looks ruled and graphic transparency was a major trend. Like luxe turned inside out, transparent, colorless fabrics communicated a need for something special without even a hint of vulgarity. This season London was all about the personal, forward-looking fashion statement.

It was announced today in London, at one of the first shows of the season, that Fashion Week would officially move to Somerset House.

Harper's Bazaar just launched a 29th international edition of the magazine--Harper's Bazaar India will debut at the end of the month.

Last Night In London: Elle Style Awards 2009

Last night in London ELLE magazine held their annual Style Awards ceremony in which readers voted for their favorite trendsetters. TV Personality Alexa Chung, who wore Chanel, hosted the event. Courtney Love, who wore Givenchy Haute Couture, was voted Woman Of The Year. Sienna Miller was named Elle's Style Icon and Christopher Kane was named British Designer Of The Year. Kane also revealed his intention to keep his Fall 2009 collection pared down and simpler than previous seasons. Menswear Showcase Announced For London Fashion Week

Today it was announced that a menswear showcase will be added to the London Fashion Week schedule, right at the tail end of the week. To start things off the scheduled MAN show (that's Topman + Fashion East) will include designs from James Long, Christopher Shannon, JW Anderson, and Topman. Following that, there will be a series of off-site catwalk shows, installations, and events for other emerging menswear designers--and the editors who didn't scoot off to Milan the day before.
