New York's True Boutique Launches Knitwear Line

True Boutique in Nolita prides itself in carrying a range of cool contemporary designers, like Cloak & Dagger and Dallin Chase, in sizes that range from zero to sixteen. This Fall 2009, owner of True Boutique, Katie Campbell, will launch True by True Boutique, a knitwear range that likewise offers the full spectrum of sizes. Designers To Watch This Fall 2009: Mark Fast

Candian born designer, Mark Fast's thread-bare knits have us positively enchanted. Fast graduated from Central St. Martins with an MA in 2008 and gained industry experience by working with Bora Aksu prior to his graduation. Hong Kong Fashion Week: Over-Rolls Fall 2009

Today marks the first day of Fashion Week in Hong Kong, only proving our theory that it's always Fashion Week somewhere. One collection that caught our eye was the Over-Rolls Fall 2009 collection. All of the big names in American fashion submitted their sketches to WWD yesterday as they prepare their pitch to dress Michelle Obama on inauguration night. The big hitters, we think, were the designer's who understood Michelle's classic low-profile style.

Suzy Menkes writes on the rugged knits so popular in the Fall 08 menswear shows and makes the allusion to a declining economy and the need for comfort. She writes, "...no young banker wants to wear knitwear the color of a pink "you're laid off" slip".

Hanky Panky, the everyday undergarment chic women swear by, held a sample sale yesterday. Let's just say this is the first time Hanky Panky showed a panty line.

WWD picked up the "Anna Wintour will resign/be replaced" story and gets "unfounded" quotes at every turn. A wrap up of the rumors is pitted against the official word.

Simone Shailes Lands At Topshop

Knitwear designer Simone Shailes has landed in Topshop and her structured designs for the retailer, inspired by her Central Saint Martins Fall 08 show, are a winter winner. The 25 year old Londononer learned how to knit by way of her grandmother and her studies at Saint Martins. After her graduate show, Topshop scooped her up for a capsule collection and the rest is history.
