Giorgio Armani announced today that Megan Fox will succeed Victoria Beckham as the new face of Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott photographed Fox over the weekend in Los Angeles for both campaigns.
As previously reported, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Real Madrid soccer star, will be replacing David Beckham in the men's Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans campaigns. Unlike the Beckhams, Ronaldo and Fox will not appear in campaigns together. Both billboards and print ads will run worldwide in January. [WWD]
Burberry and Michael Kors both offered real-time runway shows for the masses this season, and Alexander McQueen will do the same in Paris on October 6 with the help of Nick Knight's SHOWStudio.

Like this year's Armani Collezioni Cruise range, the Giorgio Armani Cruise 2010 collection stayed close to home. Trim suiting, shades of grey and slinky cocktail sheaths are instantly recognizable as signatures while a few key surprises, like geometric prints and bursts of color, keep the collection seeming alive and new.
Last night we attended the opening of the Armani/5th Avenue flagship store--in short, the multi-story flagship has a glass facade with a winding design-staircase floating in the middle of the space. When we entered, we were so visually stimulated--was that a window, a mirror, or thin-air?--we nearly knocked into Anne Slowey while catching the elevator. When we arrived at the top floor we stepped out to find Andre Leon Talley sitting behind a receptionist desk, talking on his cell phone. Then came more stairs, bellinis, Suzy Menkes, and rumors of Mayor Bloomberg and Giorgio Armani talking about a one million dollar donation (but just where, we couldn't tell). If a successful mega-flagship is one where real life ceases to exist completely, then Armani's nailed it.
The designer also blogged for New York Times' The Moment and covered such topics as clubbing in the Mepa and the difference between American and European window treatments.
Andre Leon Talley acted a true gentlemen at yesterday's Tracy Reese show, refusing to push anyone out of the fully seated front row.
