Does the world really need another fashion magazine? In this case, yes it does. Launching in London this week, Twin magazine plans to stand out from the fashion crowd with its promises to, "love creative women and not worship empty celebrity" and "peel back the gloss and gets back to the basics of magazine-making."
Issue one of this hard-back bi-annual features a poetry portfolio curated by Carol Ann Duffy, the first female poet laureate, writing by Miranda July, and photography by Todd Selby and Garance Doré.
Models Freja Beha Erichsen and Kim Noorda also appear in the first issue, videos of which you can see here.
We've never been huge fans of over-the-knee boots but this street style photo, taken by Garance Dore, is an exception to the rule. With so many great ankle boots on the shelves this season, it's hard to get into this trend (which hit so hard the last two Fall seasons in New York anyway). The gal captured in the photo pulls it off effortlessly, however, making over-the-knee look classic rather than like last year's trend. If you feel like indulging, check out the varied price points above.
Lately, shoes have been our only concern, and today, our discovery of a new street style website and subsequent girl about town, led us to add another Fall 08 shoe must-have to the list. We've picked out four options, two designer and two high street examples, so that you can get this look too. Check out Garance Dore for tons of Paris Fashion Week Spring 09 street style coverage and enough chicsters to send you on a shopping spree by lunchtime.
