This morning we caught up with Dazed Digital and learned about an economically sound collaboration happening across the pond. British e-retailer ASOS teamed up with stylist Richard Sloan on a range, called HIT, inspired by Fashion Week freebies. To kick things off Sloan enlisted the help of Louise Gray, Fred Flare and Markus Lupfer who each created goody-bag items for the collection. Gray created friendship brooches, of which there are only 100, while Fred Flare created neon packing tape and Markus Lupfur glow-in-the-dark underwear. Check them all out by clicking on the title link above.
We'll just come right out and say it--it's been one long day and with the blustering, grey weather we'd much rather be reading than, well, writing. To that end, there's no better time for our last post of the day where we roundup links from our Network Partners. Fashion Binge posted on the Fred Flare store opening in Greenpoint and the goodies she covets from the store. Did someone say magic pyramid sweater? We're in. Any One Girl also got us inspired to wear fun cottonthings, today it was the Pegleg women's collection that did it for us. Trend de la Creme commented on the stylings of a certain Moscow Fashion Week show--let's just say we couldn't agree more. And, finally, giving us a dose of actual, tangible, you know, information, The Scented Salamander posted on the new perfume for men called Lyric by Amouage.
As children we used to relish "LPJ"s or little plastic junk from the Littlest Pet Shop to licensed toys from the latest kid's film at the fast food emporium so perhaps it stands to reason that as our consumption addiction withdrawal comes to a head we are regressing to this most basic of cheap goods group. Who knew that it was possible to enjoy the "made in China" goodness of the LPJ even in accessories land just as the full brunt of our debt to China really starts to cramp our spending habits.
We are vacillating between extreme fantastical luxury and darling too cute for words cheap thrills these days. So the news that Fred Flare is opening up a Greenpoint boutique today warranted an OMG.
Of course not everyone is lucky enough to live in Brooklyn so we rounded up a feel good big smiles awwww shucks set of products to ease your anxiety level today.
