Los Angeles D&G Store Opening: Celebs Aplenty And A Good Cause
Last night in Beverly Hills a slew of California-dwelling celebs came out to celebrate the opening of a D&G Flagship on Robertson Boulevard. Hosting the event was Rachel Bilson, and, in honor of the store opening, Dolce and Gabbana took an opportunity to give back. From December 15th through January 15th, 15% of sales at the store will be donated to The Art of Elysium; a non-profit which develops creative projects for children battling serious medical conditions. Check our gallery from the event below, and, the Spring 2009 D&G collection, right here.
Wedges From Milan Fashion Week Spring 2009
The wedge has been a popular shoe for seasons and though it's always second runner up to the platform it seemed as thought Milan was banking on a breakthrough. While Salvatore Ferragamo invented the wedge, it was Dolce and Gabbana and D&G that did the most with the form this season alongside appearances from Fendi, Marni, Moschino and Frankie Morello.
Ahoy Mateys, Set Sail on The Good Ship D&G!
When Rubin Singer did a full on nautical collection in New York for his Spring 2009 show we admit we thought it was a little too much cruise collection not quite enough spring/summer. But after seeing D&G's delightful diffusion line take on naughty and gnarly nautical we might have to soften the stance on cruise as summer collection attire. Who are we to stand on ceremony, cruise is just summer in a different hemisphere anyway right?
While it may homogenize merchandising a bit we were tickled by stripes (a trend report of ours in New York) on everything from dresses and capris to full on bathing robes. Add to that a few jaunty little high waisted trousers (who cares if its been done to death already?) and some pert camisoles and we might just convince ourselves that we need to get on the Dolce and Gabanna yacht.
Coutorture Loves A Cougar
Maybe it's Naeem Khan's Resort collection or our preference for maturity at all costs, whatever the case may be, a ferociousness has been taking Coutorture by storm. As we were making our daily rounds of what's on sale at Net-a-Porter, we noticed this newly added D&G Tiger Print Shirt Dress. We must say, it's puuuurrrfect (sorry, couldn't resist). First off, it's D&G, much to the appeal of any woman with plastic nails from New York to Boca, and it's Tiger Printed (not cheetah, nor zebra) so you know, pair it with self-tanned legs, these shoes, and a martini, and you're a fashion woman to be reckoned with. More animal prints below, obviously all by Dolce & Gabbana. All joking aside, we're really into animal prints, especially when styled with oddities like acid green sandals, orange nails, or washed out nude lipstick.
