New Yorkers have yet another reason to be upset at Topshop and jealous of the Japanese shopping scene as Topshop is doubling the size of its flagship in Harajuku. The British fast-fashion brand plans to open seven stores in the city over the next three years through a franchising agreement with T’s, a newly created company controlled by Mori Retail Systems and investment fund JBF Partners. Mori runs the trendy retail complex Laforet, where Topshop opened its smaller, trial store two years ago.

Christian Audigier, who we have been watching all week at Los Angeles Fashion Week, wants to sell his company and is in talks with private equity firms, apparel manufacturers in California, and European firms - more than 15 in all - about buying the business, which encompasses 10 brands and includes his namesake label and the tattoo-inspired line Ed Hardy.

Mathias Guerrand- Hermès, a polo-playing international socialite and heir to Hermes, has appeared in a US court accused of attacking the pilot of his plane flying from Paris to New York. Apparently he tried to punch the captain of AirFrance 008 and also grabbed his crotch.

Houston is gearing up for something like a fashion week. Simon Fashion Now, a three-day celebration of current fashion and beauty trends will be starting tonight.
