Alexander Wang teamed up with Natasha Poly and Victoria Traina to celebrate the launch of friend Ryan Korban's new interior design website last night at the Soho Grand. Ryan, who memorably gave a tour of his own place to the Selby last year, is upping his presence online and expanding his design profile with projects like decorating Natasha's apartment. Naturally, the bash had a heavy models to mortals ratio — Erin Wasson arrived in a leopard-print fedora and made a bee-line for the man of the evening, while Hanne Gaby Odile mingled with Jessica Stam, Maryna Linchuk and Daiane Conterato. Victoria was joined by sister Vanessa, while Zoe Kravitz toasted Ryan from Alexander's side with a few mini-champagnes.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America welcomed its newest members yesterday during a party at New York's Four Seasons restaurant. The 31 recent inductees—including Alexander Wang, Christina and Swaim Hutson, Erin Fetherston, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Chris Benz, Jenna Lyons, Lyn Devon, Koi Suwannagate, and Maria Pinto—were welcomed by CFDA president, Diane Von Furstenberg, who promised "I am your mother, mentor and leader."
The topic of conversation ranged from saving the garment district—as many of the young designers produce the majority of their collections in New York—to memories of childhood design projects. Alexander Wang remembered copying a Versace shoe for a fifth grade papier-mâché project, Albertus Swanepoel draped fabrics on dolls' heads as a child, and Irene Neuwirth started making her first jewelry with oven-baked Shrinky Dinks. lexander Wang presented his spring 2010 collection to a packed house. Among them, models (Erin Wasson and Liya Kebede), photographers (Terry Richardson and Inez and Vinoodh), actresses (Rachel McAdams looking very friendly with Anna Wintour), fellow designers (Diane von Furstenberg) and fashion industry elite (Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Katie Grand and Jen Brill).
Back in June, the 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner cited his work with the Gap as an influence on his all-american resort collection. For spring he took the thought one step further designing sportswear as interpretations of locker room gear — think football player shoulders on a cropped gray sweatshirt, high-waisted leather lace-up shorts, red and white rugby-striped sweaters, gray athletic bras and Jockey-inspired men's underwear, a shiny black boxing robe, and a letter "A" crested varsity jacket — each worn with cut-out knee-high socks and peep toe booties in leopard or black.
Frankie Rayder and Angela Lindvall were among the models who walked in Wang's show, wearing their hair in loose messy braids over one shoulder like young soccer players fresh from the scrimmage field.
