There is no shortage of West Coast self-documentarians, posing under the constant blue sky in studded platforms and posting the pictures on their blog for all the world to see--and it seems the contemporary brands are catching on. Quiksilver, whom you might remember from your mall loitering days, has launched into their Spring season with a fashion blogger photo shoot as the official send off. Six of Los Angeles' top bloggers styled their own looks from the Spring range for the shoot. Click on the link above for more.
Isaac Mizrahi has finally arrived at Liz Claiborne after spending six years designing for Target. The brand has been waiting for almost a year to have Mizrahi come on board...and it must have been a long one. Back in January of 2008 Claiborne's Chief Executive told USA Today, "It is certainly no secret that the brand has been lacking a clear and cohesive vision and has languished as a result.".

Fashionologie just reported on the Chanel Spring 2009 ad campaign and we're delighted to see these first shots. We're not going to lie, we've never been Chanel girls. We don't really understand the undying fascination with Karl Lagerfeld and we definitely don't look good in tweed. Alas, there is a slick, handsome side to Chanel that we do fall for and this campaign perfectly captures it. White tights?! We love them--especially when styled with coattails. Get the look now with bloomers or a black and white mini-skirt.
Nicholas Kirkwood, genius of the sky-high heel, has spoken with both Grazia and Style.com about his working on, gasp, flats. Apparently watching models fall in his shoes at the Rodarte show (and beyond) has turned him off the subject.
Hedi Slimane shot the Spring 09 Prada menswear ad campaign and the models come from a certain rock-pedigree that might interest a hipster or two. A photo from the striking ad campaign right here.
M.I.A., pregnant as ever, has a just-launched clothing line that puts American Apparel's Akrika leggings to shame. Details of the silk screens and graphic happenings, right here.
Another clothing line to drop: Lanvin for Acne has officially landed in stores and online and will single-handedly make your two-hundred dollar Current/Elliot jeans feel like their from JC Penney. Check out the look book right here.
The Spring 09 Marc Jacobs ad campaign, shot once again by Juergen Teller, will feature model Raquel Zimmerman for Women's, socialite and model Daisy Lowe for Marc by Marc Jacobs, and artist Ryan McGinley (left) for Men's. Perfectly cast if you ask us.
Young socialite Peaches Geldof designed a capsule collection for PPQ and our Network Partner, Catwalk Queen, was one of the first to break the news. The collection is getting mixed reviews from the hipsters in New York which shouldn't really matter save for the fact that Peaches lives in Williamsburg.
