Lately we've been seeing necklaces that are really blowing our minds--our Network Partner, Style Bubble, has been hot on this particular fashion topic for some time now--cluing us in to a few of the designers on our top ten list. Otherwise, Pixie Market has been keeping a full-stock of shocking necklaces (that sell out immediately) and small designers, like Deka Ray, are making bigger statements than ever before. The Spring 2009 Statement Necklace: Bauble Or Geometric

The statement necklace is here to stay and this Spring 2009 there were two distinct (but equally covetable) camps. Bauble necklaces cropped up at Burberry and Marni, they were colorful and mis-matched for the artistic Type-B chicsters. Then, there were those on the straight and narrow. Geometric necklaces cropped up at United Bamboo and VPL and they were Type-A all the way. The rule with personality types, remember, is that few people are just one type or the other. Bauble or geometric, it could just depend on the day.

Fringe necklaces come in all styles this fall--from haute hippie to goth goddess. We love statement necklaces so this trend is right up our alley. Wear one of these fringe necklaces during the day with classic jeans and a t-shirt, and, for evening, with your favorite LBD and platform sandals. Both looks will go from classic to high fashion in an instant.

Ka Pow Wow To Go Live On Kabiri Tomorrow

All three of these crazy Ka Pow Wow necklaces could be yours tomorrow as London based retailer, Kabiri, has picked up the brand. Better known in New York for selling out at Pixie Market every time they hit the shelves, these necklaces made of recycled materials are a perfect encapsulation of the statement necklace trend from the Spring 09 catwalks. The only difference is, rather than spending upwards of seven hundred dollars on that Burberry Prorsum necklace or that Marni necklace, you can spend more like two hundred. Not saying we wouldn't like to wear those higher priced numbers, just saying it's nice to have some options.

Fiona Paxton Does Twenties Glamour

There couldn't be a better time for Fiona Paxton's range of embroidered statement necklaces inspired by 1920's glamour. But don't chalk it up to mere coincidence, the designer has worked on prints and embroideries for the likes of Moschino, Armani, and Chloe so it's safe to assume she knows a thing or two about trends. The collection, launched in 2008, is already selling out on Kabiri (a great place to find jewelry from up-and-comers) and is only bound to expand as 2009 is slated to be as accessories-dominant as ever. Fall 2009 Trend Report: Oversize Necklaces Still Favored

Having indulged in something of a statement necklace binge last season, it seemed possible that the trend would lose steam this Fall. Although fewer designers showed off oversize necklaces, many chose to go for the look again. Surely an investment that won't go unnoticed, wear an oversized necklace with pulled back hair and minimal makeup.

When new arrivals pop up on Pixie Market you can bet there will be a statement necklace or two and this week, there's a new offering in that category from Daydream Nation. This yarn choker reminded us of that which we saw on the 3.1 Phillip Lim runway, by jeweler Eddie Borgo. We love the way these necklaces sit as they're easy to wear with just about any blouse or dress in your wardrobe.

Fremont Designs Exclusive Statement Jewelry For Revolve

In this day an age, everyone's got their hand in the business of exclusives and e-commerce giant Revolve is no exception. Their newest exclusive--before this came Alex & Chloe wedding rings and a custom Goyard trunk worth about twenty thousand--is a modest but statement-making necklace by contemporary brand Fremont. Inspired by the 1920's, the Fremont collar is hand-beaded by a Delhi-based craftsman named Abdul Azzim. Elegant, trend aware, at $165 we find this exclusive both well-timed and thoughtful.

Nude Pantyhose Make For Great Statement Jewelry

We're so impressed with UK jewelry designer, Maria Lau, and her usage of hosiery as a material in woven jewelry. If we remember correctly, a few other designers have been playing around with this concept recently, but Maria Lau's inventive pieces are surely all her own. What makes us really want to run out and buy one is seeing them styled (left) with an all-nude ballerina-like outfit. We've been stalking this accessories line, Ka Pow Wow, since we first noticed their necklaces were selling out on Pixie Market faster than a pair of black Louboutins do on Net-a-Porter. Ka Pow Wow makes to most wonderful ruffled pieces that, for a little more than one hundred dollars, are a real bang-for-your-buck investment. Spring 2009 was a season where statement accessories happily took the place of it-bags and so we think there's no better time for Ka Pow Wow than the present.
