Naomi Campbell still loves her day job. Of walking the runway at age 39, she told Vogue.com UK this morning: "When I get asked, if I'm in the right part of the world then I love to do it. I like the adrenaline rush and the live aspect of it. It's nice when it's well received and I like helping out the designers if they want me there."

Rachel Roy Helping Provide Employment For African Women Through Fashion

Beginning with this spring's collection, Rachel Roy will be working with U.S.-based Fairwinds Trading to create jobs for women in Africa. As part of the initiative, Roy will add to her Rachel Rachel Roy collection items which have been handcrafted in Africa by female-owned businesses.

For spring 2010 that means handbags produced in Tanzania with indigenous textiles and beaded jewelry handmade in Rwanda-both for sale at Rachel Roy's website and at Macy's.

Flotea Masawe, owner of Marvelous Batik, who produced the aforementioned Rachel Rachel Roy handbags, recently said to WWD, “We used Kuba cloth from weavers in the Congo and crafted the clutch in Tanzania before sending it to the U.S. for Rachel’s final touches. This clutch really has created a chain of women in three different countries who linked together to help alleviate poverty by providing employment and economic opportunities for African women.”

Roy is doing her part, and all we need to do to support her and Fairwinds Trading is to shop. Now that should be easy enough.

Calvin Klein to Live Stream Men's and Women's Shows During New York Fashion Week

Francisco Costa's womenswear collection and Italo Zucchelli's menswear collection will both be streamed live during New York Fashion Week on the brand's website and official facebook page simultaneously.

The men's fall 2010 runway show will be live on Sunday, February 14 at 2PM EST, and the women's show will air live later in the week on Thursday, February 18 at 3PM EST. Calvin Klein joins Marc Jacobs (which airs February 15 at 8PM EST on MarcJacobs.com) in major fashion houses to broadcast NYFW shows via live streaming video.

Leopard spots, snakeskin, and tiger stripes-designers took a walk on the wild side for pre-fall 2010. Animal prints showed up on bags, boots, scarves, and gloves (at Dolce & Gabbana and Emilio Pucci); metallic and sequined skinny trousers, one-shoulder dresses, and jumpsuits (at Stella McCartney); and head-to-to looks (at Lanvin). Whether its an accent accessory or a full-on statement, we're guessing spots will be a continued theme for fall 2010.

The always insightful Fashion Informer catches up with pint-sized Chicago blogger Tavi and chronicles the whirlwind sequence of events-from an 11-year-old Style Rookie to Pop and Love cover girl and that Stephen Jones hat-which controversially landed her square in the middle of the fashion spotlight.

Tavi talks slumber parties and Barbie shopping carts, and we learn how she cried while looking at online images of Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garçons fall 2009 collection. She loves Bob Dylan and Doc Martens, would buy spring 2010 Miu Miu and a copy of Visionaire if $15,000 magically appeared in her possession, and is adorably self-aware of her name dropping when recalling favorite fashion week memories-Lagerfeld, Galliano, Kawakubo, Mulleavy!

Recently appointed creative director of Cheap Monday, Anne Sofie-Back hasn't ignored her own namesake collections. She presented the fall 2010 lineup for her diffusion line, Back, in Stockholm this week, showing everyday wearable pieces in black, white, and gray. The fabrics used for her slighly askew basics-an oversized wrap coat wiht bell sleeves, padded-knee trousers, cropped jackets, and cutout capes-were soft and slouchy, comfortable fashion.

For her mainline Anne Sofie-Back collection, which will debut during London Fashion Week, Back took inspiration from her Second Life avatar-an unsuccessful, lonely stripper. Dazed Digital has more on both collections.
