Having already fallen in love with jewelry designer Ranjana Khan's fall collection of jeweled bib necklaces, we could not wait to see what the former model and wife of fashion designer Naeem Khan had in store for spring 2010. She did not disappoint, this season creating unexpected twists on aristocratic jewels by using distressing techniques—scorching crystals, acid washing ribbon and hammering metallic bullion—to create vintage finishes and beautiful imperfections. Call us obsessed.
Haute Couture is defined by attention to detail and so it seems fitting to check out the collections up-close. John Galliano kicked off the Fall 2009 Paris Haute Couture shows this season with a Christian Dior collection that called up the house's most iconic looks. Pops of neon and candy colors are a sure hit this summer and if you prefer to interpret the trend conservatively, we recommend wearing a simple bright accessory. Gloves were quite popular overall this Fall 2009 but there were many half and fingerless options that stood out. Paired with bare arms these extra-short gloves made for a sometimes dainty, sometimes tough fashion statement. In fact, the difference was in the details. While Alexander McQueen toughened his up with studs, Salvatore Ferragamo added feminine roses as a finishing touch.

Behold, headbands worn squarely across the forehead and pushed slightly above hairline that do not call up images of eponymous celebrities. Brooklyn accessories designer Jennifer Behr designed a range of chic crystal headbands this season which are appropriate for bridal or evening wear. The young designer has, in fact, sold her designs to countless celebrities but is also known for her unique bridal creations and delicate belts. Having indulged in something of a statement necklace binge last season, it seemed possible that the trend would lose steam this Fall. Although fewer designers showed off oversize necklaces, many chose to go for the look again. Surely an investment that won't go unnoticed, wear an oversized necklace with pulled back hair and minimal makeup.
