One necklace, Three Price Points

First off, there's no denying that the quality of a $1220 dollar Lanvin necklace will differ from that of a $7 Forever 21 version--of course it will. But doesn't this seem absurd, if only for a moment? We're not sure what these six necklaces better demonstrates, the fact that quality is not a dimension in e-commerce or that everyone--from mass market retailer to French fashion house--is trying to save a buck these days. Or could ribbon have coincidentally become a popular way to tie a few stones around your neck? Something tells us there's more to it than that.
