London Fashion Week: Quasimi Spring 2009

, · September 16, 2008 · 0 Comments

If you don't know the name Quasimi, don't be too concerned--unless you're a rock opera kind of gal. We sat, yesterday morning, through eight plus Led Zeppelin songs as played by two rather over zealous violinists. Their instruments, much to the dismay to those of us who had missed the chance for a morning coffee, were hooked up to some kind of electric guitar amplifier, making us wish we hadn't arrived early (i.e.on time). So this left a bad taste in our mouths and, despite the fact that the Spring 09 collection showed mostly chic, wearable, equestrian inspired garments, the drama spoiled it for us. The show was long (so long that we cut the camera at ten minutes) and was punctuated by dramatic pauses that we thought unnecessary and self indulgent. The finale (and it can only be called that) included Quasimi's two designers slowly walking down the runway, self satisfied, with their three costume pieces. Perfectly straight forward and likable clothing otherwise, don't get us wrong, but...only in London.
