London Fashion Week: Peter Jensen Spring 2009

, · September 15, 2008 · 0 Comments

Last night we arrived at the Peter Jensen show in Westminster to a few strands of hanging lights in a warehouse and endless bottles of champagne. It was a beautiful, paired down space, large enough to house the slew of Jensen fans that have become increasingly dedicated to him as the seasons have gone on. This season, Jensen showed a collection inspired by American actress Jodie Foster at different stages of her career. Namely, as she was seen (and dressed) in Freaky Friday, The Hotel Hampshire, The Accused, and The Silence Of The Lambs. The collection, in all its various stages, was boyish, smart, and sexy--much like the actress herself (not the mention align with Jensen's aesthetic). The only thing that deserves a mention is that a collection that pivots on some kind of obsession with Jodie Foster may give more than a few people a bad taste in their mouths. A little discomfort at the very least. And that's all we'll say about that because we actually think that Peter Jensen is a noteworthy up and comer and this collection, like his others, was truly above the fray. Opening Ceremony, here we come.
