We have a hazy memory of a time not so long ago when Japanese Anime was really popular among a certain set of social misfit men with artistic tastes. Actually we still know a few men like that. And while our inclination in films helped us learn one word (KIMOCHI!!!!!!!) we admit the aesthetic does have an appeal behind its hypersexualized undertones.

Apparently this circa 2001 sensibility is exactly what Duckie Brown was channeling in his Spring 2009 runway. Overblown hair dos that reminded us of Dragon Ball Z, pumped up black sportwear and neon splashes were out in full force. Frankly we weren't sure what to make of it. All we know is that it feels a little out of date.
