The Celebrity Versus Yves Saint Laurent Fall 08

The Yves Saint Laurent Fall 08 collection is absolutely brilliant, in our opinion. This is why we bother and we just wanted to, you know, say something. Very late last night and early this morning we've been scouring Getty for images from the Met Gala. Regular Coutorture readers know that we have a pretty strict no-celeb policy. It's not that we're hating on those sites that do cover the famous we just, you know, don't. We don't watch television and we don't read tabloids. We have no idea who half of the celebrities are that are being discussed, nor how much they happen to weigh, nor what car accident sent them to prison (that is something that happens, no?). You see, we just wanted the designers. But Getty doesn't have those pictures. If you catch a designer in any of the photographs he or she is likely arm and arm with, you know, what'shername. We think a line needs to be drawn in the sand because, even though celebrities have always been embedded in fashion, they have never been the dictators.
